Wicked: The Untold Story of the Witches of Oz

Hello dear bloggers!!
Today I’m going to talk to you about my favorite musical ever, that is: Wicked!
Everyone knows the story of “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz”, written by L. Frank Baum in 1900. (The story about Dorothy and her dog toto lost in Oz and her road to the wizard to come back to her home, do you remember?). In that story there were three witches, one die hit by Dorothy’s house and the other one die melt with water and the third witch it was a good one, so she lives.
In 1995, Gregory Maguire wrote an incredible novel based on the L. Frank Baum novel. The name of this story is: “Wicked: The Life and Times of the Witches of Oz”, that is like a prequel of the original story. This book tells the story of the land of Oz before Dorothy’s arrive, and specifically of Ephaba Thropp and Galinda/Glinda and their road to become in the two witches of the original novel. Elphaba is the mean witch, but she wasn’t always this way, and the story reveals the secret about how she became in the wicked witch of the west, actually, and this is a kind of spoiler, Elphaba is good and the Wizard is the mean (I hate him). Glinda is the good witch and everyone loves her, but no one knows that she was the best friend of Elphaba. When you read this novel, you realized of the secrets of the original story and
Gregory Maguire’s novel inspires Stephen Schwartz and Winnie Holzman to create the amazing Broadway musical “Wicked: The untold story of the witches of Oz”. The musical give us an incredible view of the story with songs, drama and comedy. What could be better?
This musical premiered on Broadway in October 2003 with Idina Menzel as Elphaba and Kristin Chenoweth as Glinda. It was a completely success and continue until our days, and not only on Broadway, but also in other countries like Australia, Japan, England and even Mexico!
Is a great musical that I hope to see live. Well, that’s all
See you next week!

*Here are the two epic performance of the musical, so watch it!

A country that I'd like to visit

Hello dear classmates!

In our first blog post I’m going to tell you about a country that I’d like to visit.
I really want to go to United States. Maybe you are all thinking that my chose it’s a little common but, the reason of why I have chosen that country can be describe in one word, and that word is: Broadway.
I grew up wanting to become in an actor, and I really love Musicals, so visit USA, specifically Manhattan, it’s something that I need to do. What I know of USA is what I heard in history class and also what I had investigated, but the most of my knowledge is direct to the arts.
Once I’m there, I will visit a lot of theaters as I can, and I will watch the greatest musical ever made like Chicago, Les Miserables, The Phantom of the Opera, Hairspray, Funny Girl (I hope) and obviously Wicked; actually, I’m directing and producing with a friend a Wicked adaption in Rancagua. Also, if I can, I would like to work in Manhattan and live there, but, I don’t want to work in McDonalds or something like that, I want to work in a Broadway musical, playing the role of Marious in Les Mis or Fiyero in Wicked (that actually is the role that I’m playing now), for example.
And that’s all, hope you enjoy reading this!
See you next week

Kind regards!
